Responsibilities:

Route Planning: Plan and adjust routes using computer equipment, GPS devices, or other navigation tools to account for changing conditions, minimize fuel consumption, and reduce carbon emissions.

Cargo Handling: Load and unload goods efficiently and safely, ensuring proper storage and securing of the cargo.

Permits and Documentation: Obtain all necessary special permits and documents required to transport cargo on international routes.

Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other essential equipment. Perform necessary brake adjustments and conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.

Emergency Repairs: Be prepared to perform emergency roadside repairs when required to ensure the vehicle remains operational.

Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on the vehicle to ensure its safe and efficient operation.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to comply with company and regulatory requirements.
