About the Position
Lady W Home Care is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSW) to provide essential nursing care in Richmond Hill, ON. This role involves assisting patients with their daily needs and ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a caring nature and be ready to take on the challenges of supporting individuals in a home care environment.
Languages Required: English
Education: Secondary school graduation certificate
Experience: Previous experience is an asset
Key Responsibilities
As a PSW, you will be responsible for:

Assisting patients with outdoor recreational activities

Providing support with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing

Emptying bedpans and ensuring patient comfort

Monitoring vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
-
Serving meals and assisting patients with feeding
-
Helping patients with mobility, including lifting, turning, and positioning
-
Ensuring patients' rooms are tidy and beds are made
-
Supervising patients' exercise routines and assisting as needed

Managing and maintaining an inventory of supplies

Responding to call signals to determine patient needs

Collecting medical specimens

Administering first aid when required

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
This role involves working in a fast-paced environment and requires the ability to handle physically demanding tasks. Applicants should be capable of performing repetitive actions, demonstrating attention to detail, and being able to distinguish colors and sounds. The position requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with a significant amount of walking.
